DESCRIPTION

Quibim has developed this app to characterize the trabecular bone microarchitecture from post-processed X-ray images. The tool provides bone volume percentage, trabecular thickness, separation and irregularity analysis, and combines these biomarkers in a single score, the quality of trabecular structure (QTS) score.

The app helps identify initial deterioration and follow up patients with high precision and accuracy. The tool has been specifically designed to analyze the trabecular bone of distal regions, such as distal radius metaphysis, distal tibia metaphysis and calcaneus, and adds value in the stratification of patients with osteoporosis, through the analysis of lateral spine X-rays.

Analyzing the bone microarchitecture provides additional information to densitometry, by quantifying bone quality-related imaging biomarkers that help assess bone diseases such as osteoporosis, osteopenia or multiple myeloma.
